Surfing Hainan has held three international surfing competitions, many group surfing events, and beach clean ups. Our passion for bringing surf to China has been featured in much international media. We look forward to continuing on our path until there are surfers up and down China's vast coast, and Hainan is known as the capital of China surf.

Brendan Sheridan - A Chinese language major at the University of Santa Cruz, California, after attending high school in Hong Kong as the son of a diplomat. After surfing in New Jersey for four years, he moved to this Chinese tropical island and founded Surfing Hainan in 2006. He is constantly impressed anew by the quality of the surf in Hainan.
Julieta Hepner- This Argentinian pearl first came to Hainan in 2005, and returned in 2010 after years in Europe, where she got a degree in tourism and learned to surf in Ireland. A surf lesson from her is a truly international experience, learning to ride China's waves with instruction in one of the many languages she speaks - Spanish, Italian, French, and her own adorable brand of English.
Steven Gong - Another Californian and UC Santa Cruz graduate on the team, Steve grew up in San Francisco. Studying Chinese for most of his life, he can instruct in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and is quietly becoming one of the best SUP surfers on the island.
Pablo Huang Moyu - The Chinese kid with the Spanish name who speaks German, Moyu is one of the few and proud - Chinese surfers who have been consistently surfing and improving over the last few years. Currently earning a degree in Business from the Sanya College, Moyu has twice competed in the Surfing Hainan Open, and is Surfing Hainan's first sponsored surfer.
Darci Liu - A fixture on the Hainan surf scene since our inception, this Hubei native is China's best female surfer. Her grace on a longboard , fluency in Chinese and English and overall enthusiasm for the sport make for an incredible combination.
A Feng - This 16-year-old rising star learned to surf with us over the past few years, and when he's not helping out at his family's business, he's hanging out at the shop or sneaking in to our transportation up[ the coast to surf.
